The current state of development of project Kanki is discussed and some prospects for future development are laid out with reflection on the results of the research IT infrastructure project at the University of Jyväskylä. Kanki is a crossplatform native iRODS client application which was introduced to the iRODS community at the iRODS Users Group Meeting in 2015, and later released as open source. A total of 9 releases have been made, from which the latest 6 have been available in addition to the source code as pre-built binary packages for x86-64 CentOS Linux 6/7 and OS X 10.10+. The set includes several essential services for researchers to help them execute an open and responsible research process. Recently, the large-scale reforms of special education have been carried out in many countries. This study focuses on the latest Finnish reform of special education in compulsory education. As principals lead educational reforms in schools, their role in the implementation of reform is significant. The study explores principals’ views on the changes in support arrangements after the educational reform. A Comparison of Finnish and United States Franchisee Satisfaction

This paper investigates, using a multi-dimensional model, differences between franchisee satisfaction in Finland and the United States. Comparison of Finnish and American franchisee satisfaction levels is made across eight dimensions of franchisee satisfaction. Data was collected using a postal survey of Quick Service Restaurant (Hamburger) franchisees in Finland and the United States. Results show franchisees in Finland and the United States are overall equally satisfied. Data analysis revealed that for four of the eight dimensions, franchisees in both countries have statistically equal levels of satisfaction. Outsourcing means using factors which are external to an organization to perform its functions whereas offshore outsourcing relies on using foreign resources to perform those functions. We focus in this paper on offshore outsourcing of information systems (ISs). We have conducted an exploratory case study of outsourcing IS support services. The services have been outsourced by a supplier organization which has been based in Finland.
